The weather in Nitra is beautiful. 4/8 CU with fresh wind from south and 32 degrees Celsius. The pilots are near or after the last TP Banovce some 40 to 60 km out. We expect the arrivals in about 20 minutes.

The Online Tracking is unfortunately not available today due to small technical problems :o( Anyway it will be fully operational for all pilots from tomorrow. :o)

The first glider have been launched at 13:30. With four towplanes today we managed to get them airborne in 30 minutes, but only 14 have used the opportunity to fly today. The start line was open at 14:15 with usuall announcement GO! at the end. The pilots are now on their way to the first TP Velka Luka.

We finished the briefing just now. We explained the procedures for today, weather forecast and task to all pilots. The task is set to mountain area some 120km NE of Nitra. The course is: From start line located over the airfield to TP Velka Luka, TP Dolny Kubin, TP Banovce, Mandatory reporting point Agrokomplex to Finish Line 15. The lenght of the task is 285,4km. The take off is scheduled at 13:30.

Online tracking: We are working on the settings of the system so we can show the tracks flown by the pilots already today. The technical delay is set to 5 minutes which covers time for two loops of communication between the unit and the server. The link for the Online Tracking will be displayed all the time during the event. You can access the tracking by simple "click on" the banner located in the right upper corner of the page.

Weather outlook for today: We are positioned at the end of high pressure area moving further south. Cold front is approaching from west and we expect this front will reach our task area tomorrow early afternoon. Wind is from South-Southeast direction with strenght up to 10m/s for Nitra region. The other regions reported not so strong wind. We expect CU clouds starting just after noon at 1500m above ground, later rising to 2000m or even more. Thermals 1,5-2m/s at the beginning and up to 3m/s later afternoon.
