First day of Pribina Cup 2015 is over and the pilots are already relaxing. Today we were most of the time waiting for better weather to come and it was also a reason, why after the first briefing we had one more shortly after the noon. Even if the day had to be cancelled due to several rain and snow showers in the airport area, those who were patient and did not fold the gliders into the trailers made a good choice: after 3 p.m. the skies cleared up and about one third of the competitors took off.

Unfortunately, it was too late to make all gliders airborne, but most of those who had flown, accomplished tasks originally planned for today. Pilots were reporting bases of the cumulus clouds at about 1700 meters QNH, strong thermals, but also a strong wind. We hope that this promising end of the day will be a starter of positive period with some nice flying. Have a nice evening and see you tomorrow at the grid.
