Calm evening at Nitra airport is a time for another daily summary. Today´s weather was a challenge, but we do have a valid contest day in all classes. Rain showers made it difficult, mostly in the north-eastern area of today´s tasks, but approximately 70 pilots made it back to Nitra with 'mission completed'. After the showers the air became stable and many pilots had to wait even half an hour in weak thermals. 

 

Those, who started later, made a good decision: reported thermals were from „easy-to-find“ two and half meters until some integrated 4 meters with the highest Cu bases at 2000 meters QNH. The average speed of the best pilots in the open class was around 100 km/h. There were 12 outlandings today, now we are waiting for just 2 last missing pilots. Now it´s beer – relax time, we are looking forward to see you tomorrow!
