Today was a great sunny greeting to all of the mud-fighters: those, whose cars and shoes reminds agricultural life, and also those, who did understand, how deep can be the tillage of bread-giving Slovak fields.
Because the early birds hops further – we started the takeoffs at noon for tasks from 250 to 340 kilometres long. Takeoffs were smooth, apart from one double-seater who had to came back with a rope hanging from a nose, but thanks to its crew we did not lose it. Landings were – mostly due to the final glide against the wind – more challenging for some: we had 4 gliders which were back home, but not exactly home and they were brought back by hands or with a Miro´s tractor help. Another 10 gliders outlanded in the other places of our small, but sometimes quite big country (against the wind it looks bigger).
According to Míla, the daily winner in the 15 meters class, the weather was highly flyable today, with the bases at 2200 meters QNH and thermals up to 4 m/s. He said it was a bit more problematic in the north due to some showers in Vtáčnik area and also areas still covered by snow. South seems to be much better, when the field will dry out even further, it can be the greater for the next days.
