A wind shear just before the start provided an advantageous lift to around 1300 QNH, allowing pilots to head straight for the first turnpoint. The day's strategy involved utilizing the well-known ridge route, echoing the tactics of previous flights. Success hinged on extending the flight within the task areas as much as possible; those who fell short in maximizing their range ended up returning before time, thus compromising their speed.
This successful ridge day, valid for both classes, mirrored the speed achieved the day before, showcasing the pilots' adeptness in harnessing the conditions. The day's flying was beautifully rounded off by our local Blaník, which elegantly flew the ridge until the day's close, marking another triumphant day of ridge soaring.
