Competition - 20th Apr 2025

Yesterday was another day of exciting racing across the Slovakian landscape. The grid opened in the morning on Runway 15, followed by the briefing at the usual time, where challenging Racing Tasks were set for all classes, ranging from 244 KM up to 342 KM. Pilots were to head towards the Prievidza area, then south near the Hungarian border, before returning to the ridges of the Tribeč mountains, with moderate gliding conditions expected. The first launch was anticipated and confirmed at 12:00. As the day progressed, all classes were observed making good progress in the north, cruising at altitudes of 1500–1900 meters QNH. All classes continued the battle in the south, with some pilots already rounding the second turnpoint and heading north. In the afternoon, gliders approached the final leg of their tasks, and others reached their last turnpoints. Conditions remained stable, leading to anticipation of the first arrivals back at Nitra airfield around 16:30. By 18:30, the successful completion of the days flying was confirmed as all gliders were accounted for. This marked another valid competition day, and congratulations go to all participating pilots for another great flying day.
