Quiet for a bit while the pilots race the weather to be home from their tasks. Hot and beautiful here even with showers due later, which is a joy to our Finnish friends as Rayskala, where the Junior Worlds ended this weekend, had only 5degreesC this morning and some northerly areas, severe frost.

The weather in brief (it takes a while to upload more maps to the site and most people are looking at a variety of constantly changing satellite pictures):

As described at briefing: Possibility of showers and storms in the W, S and high mountains but fewer than recently. The problem area is near the Czech/German border.

There is a significant linear weather system moving from East Germany towards Nitra (hence the rest day tomorrow, when the week's worst weather is likely). Not too much precipitation at Nitra. Occasional gusting wind around 17.00 Slight sidewinds for the landings much nothing much.

Hoping for a 1000 day before tomorrow's rest, the tasks set are as follows:

15m 333.5km

18m 348.3km

Open 372.4km

but they will be racing the weather as well as each other.

Launching should start at 11.30 and the new tasks are 15m: AAT 204.8/472.7km 3hrs

18m 217.2/483km 3hrs

and Open, 227.1/519.5km also 3hrs.

Racing task for all, today.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 7th July, a very necessary full rest day for pilots and staff after 8 action-packed flying days,

so there will be no reports tomorrow.
