2nd Practise day
We have been quite lucky to have a reasonably good weather during the last official practise day therefore we were able to set the tasks that all pilots could be home before the the opening ceremony. The day started with us being busy to prepare team captain meeting and pilots briefing preparation and pilots being busy to make them ready to fly. Fortunately all went fine and we were able to launch as planned. Furthermore everything went smooth and therefore we were able to prepare the ceremony whil pilots were on their tasks. At around 16:00 the first arrival called in and with in 2 hours all gliders have been counted. Later all teams prepared them for ceremony which started at 19:00. We had citiy officials, national aeeroclub and FAI representatives present and having their speeeches followed by FAI anthem and local folk music and dance performance. After that the glider only airshow started at first with glider Fox aerobatics having smoke on, followed by 4 Super Blanik simultaneous aerotow behind one Turbo Cmelak followed by nice formation flying againhaving smokes on. The last, but not least there was a display dedicated to history of gliding with vintage Zlin 23 Honza and Zlin 425 Sohaj flying simultaneously with 21st century carbon fibre sailplane DG Flugzeugbau LS10-st. In the end of the day all teams enjoyed beautiful evening at the airfield. We hope all of them have accumulated enough energy and motivation to have enjoyable and safe competition start.
