Competition - 23rd Jul 2011

2011-07-23 17:11:27

As forecasted the short window with some sunshine went away quickly. We noticed one PW5 in tow for training/testing flight but there are occasional drops of rain and the sky is covered with clouds. Preparations for international evening are in full swing. I've seen some potatos cleaning action in the Slovak corner :-). The tasting, eating and drinking will be accompanied by live music from: www.setback.sk. See you there at 8pm.

The day is cancelled

The organizer decided to cancel the day even for world class. There is already light rain on the airport. There will be small window without precipitation during the day but probably nothing soarable. We'll watch SGP Final race in the bar starting at 1 pm or as soon as it begins. Let's hope the wether will be better in Wasserkuppe than here.

The news from the briefing

We have had a minute of silence to express our symphaties to Norwegian people. After that we asked the teams for their indication if they want to proceed with the International evenning as planned. After their positive answer we acknowledged the program, venue and the time. Furthermore the weather forecast revealed that there is only a little chance for a valid flying day. Despite of that we have decided to keep world class in a "hot stand by" until 14:00. For those who are not flying we are going to prepare a gliding entertainment. The Sailplane grand Prix Final has started at Wasserkuppe (Germany) to commemorate 100th year of the first glider flight there. We will have presentation of their live stream with comments on the screen in the bar. More information about the event is at sailplane-grandprix-2011.aero
